Canaveral Sand, Viera Green, Jetty Gray, Micco Mauve -- some lucky homes in Brevard soon will sport these locally produced colors of paint.
Moreover, it won't have cost the homeowners a penny, thanks to the clever folks at Brevard County's Department of Solid Waste Management.
The Recycled Paint Program, a rite of spring and fall, arrived early this year. Friday, the department began distributing the paint to local homeowners and will continue until supplies are exhausted.
Homeowners can receive up to 10 free gallons of one color of the mid-grade exterior latex paint plus three gallons of trim color. All they need to do is show up at one of the two distribution centers and prove that they are indeed locals.
